У меня появился вопрос, может не выспалась, но кое-чего не пойму.
Задание такое:
Group the given words according to their derivational structure into suffixal or prefixal derivatives
Например:
Unwifely- un+ wifely- prefixal
Embittered -Embitter+ ed suffixxal

По какому принципу их так поделили?
Как быть со словами
Insensible-In+sensible=prefixal будет?
А слово Discouragement? Что здесь префикс dis или суффикс ment?
Есть слово courage , есть и discourage, есть и couragement
в какую группу это слово?
Та же ситуация и с unwomanly
и с impassioned

Если смотреть по аналогии, то impassioned попадает в ту же группу, что и embittered:

impassion-ed ,

un-womanly: как и un-wifely.

The main words that we can use to explain this theory are month, depth, width and length, since they are all words that mean the measure of one thing to another.

Toy-boy

Тhere's a class of very unusual words in English, they're called "reduplications" or "reduplicated forms": "bow wow, says the dog". Well, you can hear the reduplication, the two words are almost the same, it's just the first part changes: "helter-skelter", "namby-pamby"...

Words like this are reduplicated forms, and new ones are really rather unusual. But "toy boy" has come along in the last 10 or 15 years. It's British slang, from the 1980s. It refers to an attractive young man being kept as a lover by another person, by an older person, that's the crucial thing: the older person is keeping the younger man as that person's "toy boy".

It's the rhyme that made it popular. "Toy girl" seems rather boring by comparison.
